If you said you hadn't heard of the Twilight Books, I'd have to ask where you've been the past couple of years. However, hearing about them and reading them are two different things, although millions of people have read these books. I can't imagine someone not reading them. Just in case, though, I'm going to give you a little rundown of what each book is about.
Twilight
Bella Swan moves to Forks, Washington to live with her father so her mother can travel with her new husband. Many of the local boys become instantly attracted to her and vie for her attention. From the first time Bella sits next to Edward Cullen in class, she's interested in him, in spite of how he appears to almost hate her. Eventually, he starts becoming interested in her as well. They become close when he saves her life in a car accident in a very strange way. She figures out by research that he is a vampire. They fall in love but their relationship is threatened by another vampire, James, who wants to hunt Bella for sport. The Cullens manage to save her from James and Bella decides she wants to be a vampire, but Edward refuses.
New Moon
Bella and Edward are blissfully in love until Bella is involved in an accident at the Cullen home. Filled with blood, she suddenly looks very appetizing to Edward's brother, Jasper. This upsets Edward and he tells Bella he and his family are leaving town and he longer wants to see her. Bella is devastated but tries to move on with the help of her friend, Jacob, whom she learns is a werewolf. Werewolves and vampires are enemies, by the way! After awhile, Alice comes back to Forks and tells Bella that Edward is self-destructing and only she can help him!
Eclipse
Edward and Bella are starting college and all appears to be well until a string of murders in Seattle has Edward suspecting a new vampire of the crimes. Bella wants to see her old friend Jacob but Edward fears for her safety. Alice Cullen has a vision that Victoria, a vampire that's been after Bella is back in Forks. Edward proposes to Bella and she accepts.
The Cullens and Bella discover the murderers are a group of newborn vampires under the control of Victoria. They join with Jacob and the wolf pack to fight them off. Jacob gets upset with news of Bella and Edwards engagement and wants to fight and get himself killed. Bella gets upset, kisses Jacob and realizes she's in love with him but tells him she loves Edward more. Jacob runs away when he gets a wedding invitation.
Breaking Dawn
This final in the series has Edward and Bella married and Bella learns she's pregnant on her honeymoon – a condition that weakens her. She almost dies giving birth to their daughter and Edward injects blood into her to save her and turns her into a vampire. They have to save their daughter from an evil vampire.
